December 20, 2018 – Aspiring students of NSYSU College of Management attended the Foreign Students Recruitment Dinner Event held at Sunset Beach Resort, National Sun Yat-sen University. Diverse nationalities were present on the said event, which includes students from the Czech Republic, Russia, India, Vietnam, Indonesia and other parts of the world. Also present in the event are the faculty members of both International Business MBA (IBMBA) and Global Human Resource Management MBA (GHRM MBA) Programs where students got the chance to meet them in advance and know more about their professions and expertise.

Prof. Jack Hsu, the Director of both IBMBA and GHRM MBA Program opened the event by providing the participants the information of what the college is all about and what to expect during and during their MBA study. Prof. Hsu also presented the reasons why it is smart to choose NSYSU over other universities. He introduced the college’s international accreditations (AACSB & EQUIS), world rankings (QS, Financial Times, Eduniversal, World Top 200), dual degree and exchange programs, and several notable alumni of the college which includes Mr. John Lin, E-bay CEO of Greater China Region, Szu-Yuan Sun, CEO of Hamastar Technology Co., Ltd., and a lot more.

Current students of these two international programs shared about their lives as MBA students and gave essential information which the participants can take note of. Izabella Dobrowolska from Poland, who is a MOE (The Ministry of Education, Taiwan) scholarship awardee, shared her experience about how to apply for MOE Scholarship. According to Izabella, the scholarship really helped her a lot. She said that she didn’t have to pay anything for her tuition fees, plus she is receiving a monthly stipend to finance her daily expenses.

GHRM MBA students Michal Ryznar from the Czech Republic and Remco Yannick Robin Peters from The Netherlands also shared their experiences studying here at NSYSU. Michal, the incumbent Vice President of the International Programs Students Association talked about his internship experience at Hamastar Technology Co., Ltd., Kaohsiung, which made him developed his personality and skills. Prior to his internship, he also provided the participants insight on what is an Interdependent Studies course (a mandatory course for students). Solving real business challenges and immersing on a company was a tough and fulfilling experience for him.

On the other hand, Remco, the incoming President of the Students Association shared how he got himself back to the university after having his exchange at NSYSU two years ago. Apart from the beauty of the campus, he also made a promise to himself that he will go back to Taiwan. The food, the people, the culture are few of the things that he really enjoyed and missed when he returned to his home country. After he received his bachelor's degree, he remembered his promise and enrolled in GHRM MBA. This testified that NSYSU does not only provide students the knowledge and career, but also a fun environment conducive for learning and development.

To sum up, not only delicious meal aspiring participants during the event, but also an opportunity to know more about these two full English-taught programs and its provided scholarships. Thanks to the efforts of the people behind the event, students got a closer look at what the international programs can offer, as well as the different opportunities available for them. Sitting beside their future professors asking about the program is a rare occasion and something other universities don’t do. This only shows that the programs are competent enough in the international scene.
