Ms. Annie Li, IBMBA Alumni (Class of 2012)
Annie Li, graduated from IBMBA program, as a customer relationship manager in Test Rite Group now. After getting degree of bachelor, she worked in Costco as a clerk directly, yet she thought the job was too boring to learn something new, at that time, an email popped up in her inbox just in the right time, promoting the IBMBA program which she applied as a MBA degree eventually.
She mentioned there was a class that gave her a big impact, called Negotiation in Business when she studied in IBMBA. The professor used real case as a case study and pushed students to do discussion and role play. The role play triggered laughter and excitement in the class. And this situation can only be seen in IBMBA since many students from many nations gathered in one class.
Annie chose Rennes School of Business as part of her MBA study. There, students are encouraged to independently have opinions and concrete examples after reading some written cases which is quite different from Taiwan. In this situation, she feels students are pushed to be more active to exchange their thoughts. From her perspective, the exchange program is totally one of the easiest shortcuts to discover what students really want.
Lastly, Annie suggested that the key to success in achieving our dream job is basically our comprehension of various kinds of a job out there. By knowing different job requirements, we would be braver to take action, even it means changing our objectives. However, sometimes we never know before diving into the role ourselves, hence another crucial point is having a good mentor to be the guidance of our career. Because a good manager is not only delegating tasks or sharing his/her experience yet also being a torch for the staffs under and lead them where to go. Therefore, never forget to find your own mentor.
