Mr. Jirasak Rakkarn, IBMBA Alumni (Class of 2014)

Graduated from IBMBA, Mr. Jirasak Rakkarn(nickname Put) was faced with two options - to become an assistant learning and developing manager at a five star hotel in Thailand with a lucrative salary or to further his education with a PhD degree. To him, it was a real decision to make at the time. In the end, he decided to continue his academic journey by enrolling in College of Social Science at NSYSU as a PhD student and rejected the job offer. “I realized that my ultimate goal is to become a university lecturer and I still want to enjoy my life rather than dealing with works in a small room”, Put said.

Put’s current research area is related to Economics, Politics and International Relations. He believes that these research topics will equip him with a better and more comprehensive global vision, which could help him stand out amongst others when applying for a job at a university later. Besides IBMBA, Put also holds another Master degree, which he took in Thailand, in Economics. After finishing his Master in Thailand, Put used to have some time working as an assistant teacher delivering Economics lectures to undergraduate students. “I love and enjoy teaching and sharing new things with my students”, said Put being asked about his teaching experience.

Put has a lively and positive energy that could lift up the moods of people around him. Even though Put is currently doing multiple tasks at the same time, being a research assistant, working as a Thai teacher, doing a part time job as a cook helper in a Thai restaurant and taking PhD courses; he is still “enjoying [his] life”. This workload was a bit heavy to him at the beginning, but after reorganizing his schedule, Put is currently having a good time living his PhD life.
